nyaaahhhhh!!!

Marvelous cream..... >......<
gyahhhhh. was good except i didn't like the milk cream ice cream and the mangoes and strawberries were abit too sour. but.... GYAHHHH.... it's gooddd. >.....<

i ate #13 i think. and em ate #2. wanted to try the premium parfaits, but was expensive and small.... >..< thus, the poor student has to go for sth w more ingredients ie. the mango temptation. we took damn long to choose la. number out everything, then slowly one by one cancel out.... a long and ardous journey t'was.

and therefore, it's here! =) :
#B1-04 Citylink Mall (City Hall MRT Station)
One Raffles Link
Singapore 039393

gyahaha. it was a food trip with not much food eating ytd. more of walk and drool over all the food. BUT. ONE DAY, IS SHALLS BE RICHS ANDS GOS EATS EVERYTHINGS AT ONE GOS! that i suppose will never happen... =..=. Cocoa Tree was huge, Shokudo was tempting, Ochacha was also tempting, the chocolates looked super good, Waraku looks like it has good dessert, what else... many many many..... OwwwwO i wanttttt.... gyurrrr. next time. next time..

took near 2 hours to walk around Raffles City basement and Citylink and then Marina Square? and finally, at near 1 pm, lunch. at Kenny Rogers. i suppose i haven't eaten that since i was in Malaysia in Genting a long time ago.. ordered the set meal, some fried chicken thing with soup, and was going to order 3 side dishes to share, which took a long time after choosing the 2nd one, when the very nice waitress told us there was 2 sides per meal! and so took a little (and i mean little) time to decide on the third. and so we ended up with 2 muffins (which i love, the sort-of-crunchy outside and sweet inside wit corn. but the inside is a bit too soft, to the point that it disintegrates easily), 2 meals, with 2 soup (one clear and one creamy chicken soup), 2 drinks (1 ice tea and 1 sarsi. gyahh.. sarsi!!!) and 4 sides (mac and cheese, some weird pasta thingy, potato salad and uhm... i can't remember. another hot side dish AH! potato salad..). the mac and cheese tastes different, but it's fine. the potato salad was good, the chicken was juicy and the weird pasta had a weird taste which i didn't like. and the potato salad had corn in it. the sauce had real chicken taste in it though, not like other places. twas a good and highly filling lunch, all for $11.50 per meal. SUPER worth it.

after that's when we went to mug history in McDonalds at ard 2? and em was like the kindergarten teacher teaching a story to a student. not to say i'm a kindergarten kid, but you know, the teaching method is sth like that. took until nearly 4 to finish RF content. we gave up doing practice questions half way through other JCs Qn1.

and then... the miraculous thing. the outrageous thing. the supreme thing! MARVELOUS CREAM!

yes. i ate marvelous cream after mugging. not before lunch. yep. t'was good. >w< nyahhh. the service was good too. although it's a mix and match ice cream place like cold rock, but the ice cream flavours are more tame and sophisticated-like. and the ingredients were more normal as in no sweets like maltesers what knots. got fruits, dolce (which i suppose is pastries. the sponge 'short' cake is good), gelee (jelly), macaron (no idea what that is), nuts (which i detest) and sauce. yep. so it's like a high class cold rock which is better. and they don't slam the ingredients. they cut up (cut up, not chop up) the fruits and sponge cake very nicely after picking the ingredients up with the right hand and the left hand behind their back (like waiters and waitresses, looks super professional). and then it;s nicely mixed in with gentle mixes, unlike cold rock, and then add the fresh cream (which i suppose is like whipped cream? except it's not in the ready made packaging?) NICELY and fold and put in the cup (put.....). gyahhh... i'm so going to work there if there's job vacancy after A's. nyahhh...... =w= ya. the junior cup is 80ml, looks quite small, but is satisfying. and it's not that cold rock is not good, but that cold rock is more informal and wild and yep. wild. they're both good...

and we went off to prints to find em's notebook.

we wanted to eat the ice cream with sheree... but sheree had tuition and so came after we finished eating. -...- a waste, but yes. and em went off, and we roamed and roamed to find a new pair of shoes for her, from Robinson's to URS (on the way which we met michelle and edwin, who didn't see nor hear us) to Pretty Fit (which is expensive considering it's brand and not considering it's location) to Charles and Keith and back to URS.

and we roamed and roamed the basement, where we went to AnBC some stationary shop, where we saw disney organizers. the designs were nice. and there were some flower/lace kinda themed ones. but... the nicest one was... the Alice organiser. it was uber nice. the small one was $23 sth and the bigger one $27 sth? but it was really nice and all. but it was expensive also... TwT but it was really nice and all. and so roamed in the shop for a while more and found... pencil caps! finally! nice pencil caps. although it's $2.05 for 4, but it's nice. >..< and then surprise surprise we met michelle and edwin again. and they didn't see us again until sheree called out. XD ohohoh. then there was the cat dangling thing for phones, the fortune cats, it's super nice, butttt. it was $8. no way. not after i got mine for free and mine was originally priced at $5 max.

we went mph too. and there was lotsa lotsa books we wanted to read, but had either no time, or no money to read.

ta-dah! and so, we went to collect shaheera at the top of the mrt escalator to raffles city and went down to bk. and then we meet eugene and then mel. and went in to break fast at 7.10. XD yay. break fast. XD no... food overload...... >..<

dinner dinner dinner, buy sweets, then turandot! rushed all the way to esplanade, almost late, but not late. seats were traumatising-ly high.. wells.

'Liu's voice is super clear.... and very nice. the loud and sudden soft and crescendo on some of the high notes really .. what's the word? i don't know, but it was good and touching. the claps for her was really huge. the largest, can compete with ping, pong and pang's.

'Turandot' was really good as well. her vibratos are like woah... (was wondering if rosalind tan was one of the cast for a moment there.) but the thing was the pitch was not very clear. maybe it's just that my ears are not trained enough, but for the segments that i was familiar with (ie certain melodies), it was fine. anyway, when there was the curtain call, didn't know whether to clap or not. not clap b/c turandot's character is horrible and she caused the death of an innocent or rather, many innocents. but the death of liu is particularly sad. but to clap because she's so powerful (imagine holding a note above the orchestra, which is playing loud by the way, and still be heard loud and clear). so ended up clapping for her.

'Calaf son of Timur' (where's that i wonder..) was good too (of course he has to be. otherwise why would he be the lead?), but also wondering whether to clap for the same reasons as above, but yep. clapped. x|

ping, pong and pang.. haha nothing to say really. such cute characters. XD entertaining, yet quite poor thing as well.. can't go home to Honan. classic. x) like one person split into three. it's like they're essestially the same, but ping as the main person, pong and pang as the splits in his personality. really. they're entertaining, but sad as well.

the orchestra was impressive. although they had glitches here and there (who doesn't), there was the power in it. the force of the wall of sound was solid. so solid. the flute was solid and powerful, the horns were nyahhh... the whole orchestra was solid and powerful, whether loud or soft. and the loud and the soft are really really really really distinct and obvious, [gyahhh! my cat just came off the phone.repairs.done.] and when certian instruments are supposed to come up, they really come out and they blend back in after that. and it wasn't as if i strained my self to listen to the pros and cons of the orchestra, but it just comes. and it's not like they over power the singers as well. the sound was well balanced. loud enough to express and be heard and create the mood, yet not so that it covers the singers' voice.

but there's the bad thing about cheap tickets at high spots. there are some singers whom you can't hear clearly. the king on his throne in act 2 was quite soft. no idea whether is he sing soft or is because he sit so high up that the sound cannot cross the top part of the stage to reach the toppest layers of the hall. probably the second.

the whole chorus was really good as well. the halo plus holy light plus organ sound? ya. it was somewhat like it. the sound was really good. although i didn't understand a word of what they were singing (having to rely on the subtitles on the sides all the time), the sound was heavenly. halo, holy light and white robes. >..<

and the total sound quality, chorus, singers plus orchestra added up really brought out the music. the heart wrenching-ness of certain scenes, the majesty of the endings, the feeling where it just catches your breath away, where there's just the feeling that says, it's really good. it's so good. the music is so good. it's really good and really hard to experience. or at least that's what i feel and felt, considering that it's my first opera ever. puccini is such a genius. although the story line is abit ..., but the music is WOAH! quality! i want to be a genius and create stuff like this too! >..<

yep.

and so.

next food trip.

18th september. XD yay for food. cries for my wallet. >..< haha. ttfn then!

=[Edits]=

and i forgot to comment about the MOF desserts in Lot 1 until just. haha. ate MOF desserts on friday, 290808. green tea ice cream! wit red bean in side and vanilla soft serve! and dango! and kanten jelly! and peach and strawberry and cherry and and. i forgot. oishiiii!!! >...< if i were rich i would go there everyday to eat man. but then, i'm not, so i can't. hai..... >...< the food is damn nice, taste and presentation wise. the spoon is super long and thin and nice and the dangos are like 'SURPRISE!bet you didn't see us!' which i didn't until i scooped them up. the dango and the jelly are not sweet, tasteless actually, but it's good, cos it takes the sweetness of the ice cream and syrup and all. other wise, without the dango and the jelly, i suppose it'd be so sweet that i'd die of sweets over dose. although even with the dango and jelly, it's still sightly too sweet. but then, it's sweets! it's dessert! it's MEANT to be sweet! nyahhhh... now i want to eat..... T....T the red bean is in the green tea ice cream, so i suppose it's red bean and green tea ice cream. the green tea taste is quite thick, so people who don't like green tea would probably not like it. but i do!! the red bean is nice and sweet, but the green tea syrup is too sweet. or maybe it's just because it's mixed with other sweet stuff. the vanilla soft serve is not too soft to the point that it melts rapidly... gyahhh! it's damn good! Lot1's branch only serves desserts though..... but it's good enough. \ >w< /
